This week we focused on our shooting skills for all grade levels. There were modifications with size and type of ball being used as well as adding one or two hula hoop attached to the basketball rim. We focused on balancing the ball next to the eye, bending our knees, eyes on target, extending the elbow (elevator), following through (cookie jar or gooseneck).
Below is a picture of the students playing CHAMPION BALL. Two student's dribble the ball 3X and touch balls, which means "go". The first person to score stays and the other player goes to the end of the line.
Make it-Take it---the students worked in team to collect bean bags. They would take turns shooting at their hoop. Each student would get one shot from anywhere, if they would make it, they would go take a bean bag from the middle of the gym and bring it back to their teams bucket, if they missed, they would go to the end of their line. Winning team either had the most or had a specific bean bag in the bucket.
