For one of the PE standards the students are asked to complete a jump routine. (jump 1, jump 2, jump 3, jump 4, jump in, jump out, jump in, jump on) Level 1--ankles Level 2--calves Level 3--knee and Level 4--just above the knee. If the students complete the routine with no mistakes they move up to the next level. If they make a mistake, they switch positions. Great Exercise....Big Fun!!! For Mileage Club we have been focusing on running form and health benefits for lifelong fitness.
Running Form: Strong Neck, Head Still, Eyes Forward, Chest Up and Lean, Land on Toes (are heels are like brakes), Push Knees Up, Elbows Bent, Thumbs on Top, Pump your Arms Shoulders-Pockets (don't cross your zipper) Looking for a way to stay active this summer? Kids bowl free is back again this summer. Register your child(ren) at the link below. It doesn't take long. I did this last year with my children! We did get charge $1 for the shoe rental, but what a great deal. Let your kids show off what they learned in our bowling unit:)
