This week the students were taught 3 different ways to hold their hands when they pass the volleyball: wrap around, palms up, and interlock. Ask your child which grip they chose? They were taught to make a "V" with their arms and make contact on their forearms. We practice by ourselves by tossing the ball up, bending our knees, bumping it up and catching it. Also, we practiced a continual bump by seeing how many we could get in a row without it touching the ground. They also had the opportunity to practice with a friend. One partner would toss 10 to the other and then they would switch. We concluded the day with a passing contest:) The lower grades also practiced these skills using balloons. Here is a video of John from Mrs. Ward's class practicing his "toss, bump, catch".
