Students worked on their shooting form with a game called make it-take it. Each person on the team was allowed to take one shot. If they made it, they would run to the middle of the gym, take a bean bag and bring it back to their teams bucket. If they made it in the hula hoop it was worth on bean bag. if it went into the regular hoop, it was worth 2 bean bags. Game is over when all the bean bag were gone.

Modification for Kindergarten: having the hula hoops wedged into the bleacher for a basket and using rubber balls.
Dribble tag: If the students were tagged, they would exit the tagging area and dribble around the cones. Then return to the game. This was a good time for me to assess student dribbling.
Champion Ball Tournament: The students played for 10-15 minutes. The student with most points at the end was the Champion. Boys and girls were separated. We assigned score keepers. Students would dribble 3 times, and when they touched balls, that meant "go". First person to score earned a point and would stay for the next challenge
Champion Ball With Hula Hoop
We had so much with musical chair hockey, we played a couple rounds of musical chairs basketball. Students dribbled around the chairs, when the music stopped, they had to make a basket before they could sit in a chair.
Bowling Pin Steal-2 teams played against each other. They would dribble down to the opposite side and shoot. If they made it, they would steal a bowling pin from the opposing team. First team with all the bowling pins on their side was the winning team
Hot Shotz! Students collected poly spots that were set out around the basketball hoops. Certain colors were worth a specific amount of points. Each time a students made it from a circle, they would bring the circle back to their gym spot. When all the circles were gone, they would count up their points.
