This week we focused on dribbling with control using the finger-pads (spider on top of the ball), eyes up and keeping the ball below the waist. We played dribble tag. If the students got tagged, they would knee dribble with one hand in the air. When a friend would give them "five" they were back in the game. Bank Robbery was another game we played where the student would take a bean bag out of the middle and bring it back to their teams bank. Once all the money (bean bags) was gone from the middle, they would steal from the other teams bank. We would count at the end to see who had the most money in the bank. Knock out dribbling was another fun game we had a chance to play. There were 2 students who were on defense. All the other students were dribbling, the defense would try to knock the ball away from the dribblers. If a dribbler lost control of their ball, they would go to the wall and knee dribble until the game was over. The game was over when there were only 2 students left. They would then become the next defenders! The students learned how important it is to protect the ball by using their body and arm as a shield.
