Below is a picture of my favorite hockey player, which happens to be my son:)
Students were in groups of 2 or 3. They ran down to the bottle and had 3 chances to land the bottle flip. Then they would run back and the next student would go. It is a good activity to incorporated different locomotor movement as well.
Using paper plates to skate, strengthen core, improve muscular strength and get some cardio exercise! So fun!!
Musical Chair Hockey--Students stick handled around the chairs with a bean bag. When the music stopped, the student would have to score a goal in 1 of the 4 nets that were set out. After they scored a goal, they could go and sit in a chair. Each round we eliminated more chairs until there was only 1 chair left!
Line Hockey--2 teams. I would call out a few gym numbers at a time to play and the rest of the students would be the goalies. We would switch after a certain time limit or when a goal was scored.
4 corner hockey--Each team was assigned a net. They were allowed to take one puck at a time to score a goal in their teams net. Team with the most pucks won. Next round, we added goalies to make it more challenging.
